:S When I tap a song on my iPod, it doesn't play and skips through all of them before going to the last one. Now, YOU, seadao, are GOD to me! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS! I LOVE CAPS LOCK! :Dīy the way, can I post your instructions on my blog?ĮDIT: The OP might want to change the thread title prefix to SOLVED.ĮDIT 2: Not working. Upload 1 mp3 file to the ipod, this will create the new DBĥ: install libimobiledevice from ppa:pmcenery/ppaĦ: use make install(NOT CHECKINSTALL cmake in not debian rules) to compile usbmuxd from gitħ: reboot, ipod will mount and ask if you want to start a music appīanshee daily build works as well as stock rhythmbox ENJOY!! if they exist (note an empty itunes_control will be created by firmware, it's i good idea to reboot the device after this)Ĥ: use itunes all in windows (i used virtual box NOT OSE, you need usb support) Tried gtkpod, rhythmbox, and banshee.ġ: jailbreak your device install ifile from cydiaĢ: with ifile change the DB version to 2 like in the wiki ģ:with ifile find you(/var/mobile/media) itunes_control, and delete it along with all the sym links ex: ipod_control. Restart udev by "sudo restart udev".ĭoing that lets you see/copy music to iPod but the music doesn't show up on iPod under music. In /lib/udev/rules.d/les, change ATTR="129". Modify udev rules to recongize ipod touch 4g. Recompile usbmuxd with cmake, install it.Ģ. In daemon/usb.h, change #define PID_RANGE_MAX 0x129a to #define PID_RANGE_MAX 0x129f. Just change this to 0x129f, then re-compile usbmuxd. It means usbmuxd will ignore any ixxx device with idProduct 0x129a or higher. Current usbmuxd has max idProduct 0x129a. Kerdosa updated this ticket at October 24th, 2010 05:28 AM Now I've got the install working just got to check if my ipod is detected. Noticed that libusb-1.0-0-dev wasn't installed. Configuring incomplete, errors Synaptic for libusb. Modules/FindUSB.cmake:40 (libfind_process) Installed, use ccmake to set the missing variables manually. Install the library (dev version) and try again. checking for module 'libusb-1.0>=1.0.3'ĬMake Error at Modules/LibFindMacros.cmake:74 (message): libusbmuxd will be built with protocol version 1 support I got this cd cmake '/home/username/build/usbmuxd-1.0.5' Apt-get autoremove got rid of libipodui-cil, libipod-cil, and podsleuth, but I am guessing tyhere is more housecleaning to do if others are having success with ios 4.1.Īny cleaning tips would be appreciated. I am guessing I have some conflicting libraries, but I cannot find them. Additionally, I am getting a dbus error when I connect it the 2nd time, and it typically will not mount in Nautilus when Banshee is running. That particular driver seems very fragile. It will not return until I reboot, and reconnect. When I drag an item to the iPod, it goes well initially, then an error pops up indicating the mp3 format is not supported by the device, and no converter was found to convert it.Īfter unplugging and reconnecting, I see only one, but it is the one without the capacity bar. The other is the correct mount that Banshee should be able to use to sync Music, Video, Audiobooks, and podcasts. One of them I am guessing, is the DCIM (pictures) mount, as it does not show the capacity bar at the bottom. On initial boot, I get 2 instances of the iPod visible. I have it being seen in both Lucid and Maverick, and in both cases, I had to uninstall Rhythmbox to get the iPod to be seen. I have successfully gotten my new, jailbroken iPod touch (4.1 pre-installed) to be seen in Banshee. ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): wlan0: link becomes ready However, it does show up in "lsusb -v | grep Apple" (what I posted yesterday), but here's what "dmesg | tail" dmesg | tail Well, my 4th gen iPod touch never appeared whether in Nautilus (so not on my desktop either), Rhythmbox or Banshee. If it is not being recognized by lsusb you should see errors in dmesg. If it is no longer showing up in lsusb, can you post: So, it looks like it is showing up in lsusb by your previous post.
